ViaSat-1 Update: These are the final 4 beams opening on ViaSat-1. As of Tuesday, we have completed our rollout of ViaSat-1 beams across the country! If you're not selling Exede right now, what are you waiting for?

Here are some more changes and details you need to be aware of.

$49.00 pole mount charge

Staring on 2-25-12 our direct sales channel will no longer offer FREE pole mounts to customers as we did in the past. The new cost for a pole mount will be $49.00. Although dealers are not required to match this, I would strongly recommend you do to stay competitive. When you consider the cost of the pole mount materials and the time saved from not having to mount on a structure, you should be able to install a pole mount without reducing your profits on the sale. Remember, this is a not on every sale -- just those where you are left with no other mounting options.

Marketing materials update.

We are happy to announce that we continue to add more marketing materials for you to use in your local market. We have recently added billboards, additional print ads, radio spots, post cards, logos, marketing photos and weblets for updating your website. All these materials are now available on the dealer portal under the Sales & Marketing tab.

Dealer and Installer Training Update

We know that many dealers have struggled with training processes, so we have simplified them to make this easier for you to complete. Below, you will find process diagrams that will clearly show you how to navigate our training sites for both dealers and installers. To speed up the training process we recommend that you have an Internet connection of at least 3 Mbps -- this will save you time when going through the training courses. These documents also show you how to retreive your username and reset your password if needed.

Customers Upgrading from WildBlue to Exede

Due to customer demand, we have decided to start upgrades now! Complete details are in the documents below concerning how this process works and what you will be paid for an upgrade service call + reimbursement for equipment. This document should cover any questions you have. If not, please contact your ASM or DSI Territory Manager.

Recovery Act Package Changes

As many of you know, ViaSat offers special Recovery Act packages for eligible rural customers. Currently, we offer either 3 or 5 packages depending on satellite coverage. We have decided to eliminate two of the packages to minimize confusion for customers and dealers. Click below to see the complete details on our updated Recovery Act offers. Exede Package Selection Tool

It has been brought to my attention that many dealers are not aware of our new online Exede Package Selection Tool, so I wanted to remind you about it. Retailers that are using it are reporting that it's a great tool to help them select the right package for their customers. Customers are truly in the dark about what their internet activities really consume in bandwidth. They are relieved to have tool that shows them what their Internet usage looks like. You can find the Exede Package Selection Tool at www.exede.com. You can also add it to your own website by using our weblet -- find this information under "website stuff" on the Sales & Marketing page in the Dealer Portal.

Lifetime Prepaid Lease Offer

We are offering a prepaid lease option that allows customers to prepay their $10 monthly lease fee for a low, one-time fee of only $219.99. Customers who select this option when they order will never pay a lease fee or have to pay for equipment replacement for as long as they remain an active subscriber. It's a true, money-saving option for every customer, and it just gets better the longer they use the service.

Changes to Credit Check

Starting March 6th, we will require customer's date of birth as part of the credit check process. Although this is additional information to collect from customers, it's a much better option than a Social Security Number that many other providers require. This additional requirement will help keep our credit approval rate high (consistently in the 90% range).

We want you on our Dealer Locator!!!

Our NEW dealer locator on the Exede Web Site has been rebuilt and we are adding dealers daily. This locator produces thousands of leads per month and has been a key source of sales leads for dealers. To be placed on the dealer locator, you must meet minimum requirements. If you'd like to be on our dealer locator, contact your Exede Area Sales Manager to see if you qualify. Free Customer Leads for our Dealers

The new Exede plans are generating hundreds of customer leads a week from a variety of advertising activities created by ViaSat. These leads are distributed to our preferred dealers in each region by the Exede Area Sales Manager. ViaSat and our customers are counting on a prompt response to these hot leads by our dealers.
